Knitting with bamboo needles. I changed to bamboo myself over a year ago when I started to get the first signs of arthritis in one of my knuckles. What a huge difference they have made, so much gentler to knit with and my hand does not ache so much! Although I have to say it did take me a little bit if time to get used to them as I found the knitting did not slide so well, but now they are well worn in I would not use anything else!
My most favourite baby yarn is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, (a mix of cashmere and merino) it is a light DK and so wonderfully smooth to knit with. The colour range is fantastic and the Debbie Bliss baby patterns are pretty special too.
One of my favourite knitwear designers is Louisa Harding, her books are beautiful and jam packed with gorgeous patterns. Her designs are so feminine yet practical. If you're not familiar with her work, pop in and look at her pattern books, feel her yarns and croon!
Here is a picture of Louisa and myself outside the shop when she came to visit. She is wearing one of her little long sleeved shrugs from the book Dream Catcher and I'm wearing a design from her book Little Cake - it's one of my favourites!
